كان جالسٌ بيننا ولكنه خارجٌ عنا بعقله! يحاول الانتباه لنا لكنه لا يستطيع، بفعل المرض الذي اجتاحه فجأة! وقرر عنه أن يكون مجبراً على العزلة.
كنت أنا وأختي نجلس معه و لاحظنا صمته الطويل وكان يشيح بنظراته بعيداً عنا، كأنه يرى حياته بتفاصيلها بحلوها ومرها دفعة واحدة مختنقًا داخل نفسه، يشعر بفاقة كبيرة عن الكلام، كنت أشعر بتغضن وجهه وارتباكه!
انتبهنا أنا وأختي له وأخذت كل واحدةٍ منا باختلاق قصصًا مضحكة لكي يضحك، وبالفعل حدث ماكنا نتمناه حتى آنس بجلسته واطمئن بأن مازال هناك متسعًا للضحك وللحياة، وتناول قهوته بارتياح، رحم الله أبي رحمةً واسعة.
